  • Reconsideration of Civil Service appointment

Shortly after I hit the Post button on Newsletter No. 10, I received alerts that four Councilmembers had called for a special City Council meeting. New District 2 Councilmember Bridgett Lewis signed the notice.

It will be held at 8 a.m. Monday the 19th.

This is the agenda item:

5A. City Clerk - Consider Removal of Shamindra Manbahal from the Civil Service Commission. Expenditure: None. Recommendation of the City Clerk that City Council consider the removal of Shamindra "Rickey" Manbahal from the Civil Service Commission.

In my almost 40 years here, I cannot recall a special meeting called to undo an action less than a week earlier.

If you have read Newsletter No. 10, you understand the significance of this.
